Birchbox #1

I was so excited when Birchbox FINALLY opened for Canadians. I had used Ipsy before but had been disappointed one too many times to continue to pay for it. I was always receiving the same products and my skin can't use anything new ever so it was totally freaking out.

I was also way more drawn to BB when my friend Rebecca over at Rebecca likes nails told me they were giving away Beauty Blenders in this box. I have wanted one for so long after watching many Youtubers use them but I could never convince myself to shell out the cash. Thanks for saving my wallet Birchbox!

Anyway here's what the box looks like and what goodies were waiting inside for me:

Harvey Ageless Perfume - This perfume is a really nice floral one. Which works well since spring is (or should be anyway) on the way! I like this because it's not too overpowering and it just has a nice sweet scent you can wear day to day.

Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge - This is bright red lip stain that turns matte. I often find stains really drying but never care because I love every lip product ever. I haven't tried it out yet but I'll let you know! It gets really good reviews online!

Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer - This moisturizer smells really nice and it does make my skin super soft. I use it before I go to sleep because I find it quite heavy and for whatever reason I can't handle heavy moisturizers throughout the day. I haven't had any reactions yet! Let's hope I don't haha. 

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo - Another one that smells SO good. I have yet to use it because I just recently coloured my hair so I'm just using a colour protectant. I can see anything going wrong with this Fekkai one though. It is shampoo, I don't generally find any brand makes a difference in my hair. The perks of having impossibly thin hair?

The Beauty Blender - I still haven't this but I am so pumped. I might put makeup on tonight just because I want to try it out. That's as good a reason as any right?

Have you tried any of these products? Any more subscription services I should look into? I think I mostly just like getting things in the mail, no one sends letters anymore.

Maybe I should get a penpal.

That IS my name

The struggle is oh so real for myself (and others I imagine) who doesn't have a name that is regular enough to appear on trendy items such as makeup products, or drink products (YEAH I'M LOOKING AT YOU COKE. Whatever, I'd rather share a pepsi with someone anyway).

But, NARS has come in to save the day, and in a STUNNING colour might I add. Their new fall Audacious collection features a lipstick with, you guessed it, the name Janet. And man oh man did they hit the nail on the head when it comes to my preferred lipstick colour.

Although I'm more bias towards loving that colour, the other ones are phenomenal as well. 

Safe to say I will be adding many of these to my lipstick collection.

Back from the Mainland

I'm always so sad to return home after a vacation, especially one that lasted less than 72 hours. I know my only purpose for going was to see the concert, but I was rather impressed by Toronto and I would love have had the chance the stay longer.

The concert was nothing short of amazing. I only wish the seats we had were closer, but even just being there was awesome. If you think I was surrounded by thousands of tweens screaming, hoping that the boys would see them, then you'd be right. If don't think I joined them, then, well, you'd be terribly wrong. Even though I had beer in hand and leopard heels on, I was heavily involved in the fandom going on. My throat was sore the entire next day from screaming and singing.

I always have a mindset that the 'big city' will be so much more unsafe than my hometown, when really, if you just use your streetsmarts you'll be fine. I didn't find myself stressed walking around downtown at night, but I didn't venture into any dark alleyways either. My ignorance about bigger cities needs to stop; there are good people all over the world, they aren't just confined to my area code.

The shopping of course was spectacular. We didn't even go sightseeing because we decided shopping was the top priority. I know the CN Tower gives an amazing view, but I needed those 5 new dresses and lipsticks. I know I'll be back to Toronto, hopefully for longer so I can make time for touristy things. I'd almost rather though ask one of my friends to show me around so I can see what a typical day is like for someone living there. That would be a more rewarding experience in my opinion.

Anywho, that's it for me. Just a short and sweet update about my trip.
